Being Prepared for Dangerous Situations at Home
I have been talking about home security with many homeowners. I am attempting to acquire some insight on the different ways our homes can be threatened. I asked each person I spoke with if they had ever experienced any suspicious actions at their home. It could be burglary, broken windows, a suspicious person – anything. Almost everyone had a story. Many of the stories eventually led them to purchase a security system. I have heard that Delray Beach Home Security is a popular choice.
One individual said that he had been home for the afternoon, but left to pick his son up from basketball practice. When they got back roughly 10 minutes later, one of the windows on their house was broken and a few things were missing from inside. He seemed to think he was being watched, and the robber knew once he left the house. Another mother of 3 explained to me that she answered the door to a person who claimed to be a salesperson. After he pitched his sale, he asked if he could come inside to talk it over with her. She declined, and he again replied by asking if he could still come inside to use her phone. Because the guy was being so persistent, she again declined and closed the door in his face.
All of us have had our encounters with suspicious people and situations. Some are worse than others, like that of the first man. The information I am digging for helps me determine what motivates people to buy a security system. The woman said she quickly decided to get one the next day.
I have heard a lot of comparable stories from other people. People never truly know what will happen on a certain day. I am certain that these two people did not wake up and think something unusual would happen that day. It really emphasizes the importance of being proactive.
